Dad Admits to Killing Son, 7, Whose Remains Were Found in Pig Barn

It was widely reported that investigators believe Adrian Jones' body was fed to pigs.

The gruesome case of a slain Kansas boy whose body may have been fed to his family's pigs is nearing its close.

Michael Jones, 46, admitted last week to the 2015 murder of 7-year-old Adrian Jones.

While the prosecutor declined to discuss details, reports citing police sources at the time claimed investigators suspected Adrian's body was fed to the animals.

Police first arrived to the home in the Kansas City area on a domestic disturbance call. Inside, officers found rooms full of trash, syringes, dead mice and spoiled food, authorities said.

After police learned Adrian had been missing for months, they returned with a search warrant.

Adrian's remains were found in a barn on Thanksgiving Day.

Michael Jones entered a guilty plea to first-degree murder Friday, according to the Wyandotte County District Attorney's Office.

Jones' wife and Adrian's stepmother, Heather Jones, has already been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years for her role in the death.

"He was horribly abused, neglected and ultimately killed. I’m sure his suffering was unbearable," said Chief Deputy District Attorney Sheryl Lidtke.

Adrian was physically and emotionally abused, kept confined and "essentially starved to death," she said.
