Dogs Caught in RV Chase in Los Angeles Get Adopted

The dogs, which were stolen before the chase, were nursed back to health at an animal rescue.

The dogs involved in a wild RV chase caught on camera in Los Angeles two months ago have found their forever home.

The female suspect stole an RV in May, taking authorities on what some called a demolition derby. Accompanied by two dogs, which turned out to be stolen too, the woman smashed up at least six cars and slammed into trees during the 30-minute chase.

At one point, one of the dogs even jumped out the vehicle's smashed windshield.

The dogs were nursed back to health at Foxy and the Hounds, a Southern California dog rescue. While both pups had microchips, the info turned out to be outdated and their rightful owners never came forward.

But lucky for the dogs, Jen Latham and Shawn Mooers from Bend, Oregon, were among the millions who watched the high-speed chase play out.

"Right when I saw the story, I looked at Shawn and I said, 'I just feel like these dogs are supposed to be mine,'" Latham told Inside Edition.

The pair were among thousands who applied to take home the pups. But they had a leg up: You had to have experience with mastiffs because of the dogs' large sizes. Latham did.

After a long vetting process, the couple made the 13-hour drive to Los Angeles, where they picked up their new family members.

Inside Edition was there exclusively as the pair made it official. They've even given them new names for their new lives: Starlet and Onyx.

Now, the dogs are getting their very own happily ever after.
