The body of the man, named "Otzi" by scientists, was discovered mummified and frozen solid in a glacier in the Italian Alps in 1991. He is said to have been murdered in 3,300 B.C.

Experts say Otzi was shot in the back with an arrow.

"Perhaps that person followed him into the mountains and took a shot when he wasn't looking," NYU anthropologist Shara Bailey told Inside Edition. "I have never heard of a colder case than Otzi."

Scientists studying Otzi's mummified remains say it opens an extraordinary window into forgotten times. He stood about five feet, five inches tall and was about 45 years old.

Experts say he ate a meal about a half hour before he was killed. It is believed to have consisted of bread, cheese and goat meat, which may have been raw or smoked.

And while so much is known about Otzi, one mystery may always remain.

"One thing that they are never going to find out is who murdered Otzi," Bailey said.
